Frosh and Sophs attend NET RETREAT

For the second year in a row, BDHS students photo13were participants in a NET (National Evangelization Team) Retreat (netusa.org). On October 29, 2013 the Freshman and Sophomore classes prayed, played, and worshiped together under the leadership of the NET team. The Chapel of Mary and Joseph on the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University was once again the gracious host-site for the event. Even Fr. Fleming, SJ, president of WJU was in on the retreat, presiding at the 12:05 PM liturgy. He was very welcoming and shared a message of hope and faith in his homily and closing remarks to the students. Bishop Donahue students not only participated in the Net Retreat, but also 9 BD families opened their hearts and homes as hospitable host families to the NET Team members for 2 nights. The NET team members are young men and women who hail from all corners of the USA. The theme for the day was LIFE TO THE FULLEST. The NET Team encouraged the BD students to develop a relationship of friendship with Jesus and to love as Jesus loves. They did this by way of songs, skits, dramas, witness talks, both public & private prayer, small group discussions, and the celebration of the Eucharist. The NET Retreat served as an experience that will not soon be forgotten by the students.
