Wendy's High School Heisman Award

For the 16th year, Wendy's is presenting the High School Heisman Award to honor male and female seniors who excel in academics, athletics and student leadership.

To be eligible you must be a senior who has a cumulative 3.0 or higher grade point average and particpate in at least one school-sponsored sport. Eligible students can begin the application process at www.wendysheisman.com. Completed applications are due by October 1st.

BDHS has a proud history of Heisman winners. Past BDHS State Finalist include Lindsay Yurisko and Nathan Fallova.

3 Angels Blood Drive planned for September

You can be a HERO! To accidents victims, cancer patients, premature babies and many others, people who donate blood are HEROES. By giving blood you can help as many as three patients each time you donate.

If you are 16 or older, meet weight and height requirements and are in generally good health you are eligible to donate blood.... and become a HERO!

We are hosting our annual 3 Angels Fall Blood Drive on September 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The drive is in memory of JoBeth Gross, Danielle Block and Courtney Block.

This is your opportunity to be a HERO and give blood so that others can live. Please give in memory of our 3 Angles.

Walk in donors are accepted and those wishing to make an appointment can do so by calling the school at 233-3850.

WTRF and B.D.H.S. collaborate on YOU NEWS site

WTRF-TV and Bishop Donahue have joined together in an effort to supplement the coverage of B.D.H.S. athletics. YouNews, WTRF's newest online addition, will feature a webpage that focuses entirely on the "Bishops".

Lacey Hampton and Matt Schrumpf Win State Track Titles

Junior Lacey Hampton and senior Matt Schrumpf capped thier track season with state titles at the WV state meet held at Laidley Field in Charleston. Lacey tied the state record in winning her second state high jump championship. She then captured the state title in the 100 hurdles. On Friday Lacey joined Samantha Burciaga, Ciarra Kobasko and Lauren Chandler in breaking the school record and placed 2nd in the shuttle hurdle relay. Matt took home the state title in the 400 meter, placed 2nd in the 100 and finished 3rd in the 200.
