Members of the junior class are involved in the “Pilots and Co-Pilots” Reading Program at Center McMechen. On the last Monday of each month, 16 students venture to the school to read a fiction or nonfiction story to the 1^st graders. Each Donahue student then becomes a group leader, while reading the story, asking questions, and being a mentor to the children. The program will continue through the rest of the school year, ending with a pinning ceremony in May, where the Bishop Donahue students will pin pilot wings onto each child.
