Lacey Hampton and Matt Schrumpf Win State Track Titles

Junior Lacey Hampton and senior Matt Schrumpf capped thier track season with state titles at the WV state meet held at Laidley Field in Charleston. Lacey tied the state record in winning her second state high jump championship. She then captured the state title in the 100 hurdles. On Friday Lacey joined Samantha Burciaga, Ciarra Kobasko and Lauren Chandler in breaking the school record and placed 2nd in the shuttle hurdle relay. Matt took home the state title in the 400 meter, placed 2nd in the 100 and finished 3rd in the 200.

Class of 2009 Graduates

The Bishop Donahue Class of 2009 proudly received their diplomas and became the newest alumni on May 21, 2009. Twenty-Nine seniors who have left their indelible mark in B.D.H.S. history participated in the ceremony. Valedictorian Ana Durdines and Salutatorian Stephanie Kudla reflected on the past four years and offered their thoughts and memoires to classmates. Sister Elaine Poitras, Superintendent of WV Catholic schools and School Advisory Council President Fred Theiss presented the diplomas. Congratulations to the Class of 2009!

 
Baccalaureate Mass held for Class of 2009
Fr. Joe Hayden along with students, faculty, family and friends celebrated Baccalaureate mass in honor of the Class of 2009. Twenty-Nine graduates processed into St. James church in McMechen to beging the evening. The Class of 2009 selected the readings and the music for the mass.
 
B.D. Grad named Valedictorian at Wheeling Jesuit
Bishop Donahue graduate Marissa Smith (Class of 2005), has been named Wheeling Jesuit University's valedictorian for the class of 2009. Marissa is a political and economic philosophy major and plans to attend law school in 2010. This is the second year in a row a Donahue graduate has been named Valedictiorian at Wheeling Jesuit University. In 2008, Lauren Twigg Krupica won the prestigous award.
