Hail to Thee O Alma Mater
We are thinking now of you
As we lift our joyful voices
In a tribute dear and True

In Our memories Always Lingering
Are happy thoughts of Donahue
Thus We shall pledge our loyalty
And our friendship to our School

Strive Always to be winners
But good sports when you lose
These happy days remember
of our dear old Donahue

Student Dress Code
Students are to adhere to the uniform regulations on school grounds.
Students who are in violation of the dress code will automatically forfeit the next dress down day. Random uniform inspections will be conducted. The principal's judgment is final in matters of the dress code.
FEMALES: All girls are required to wear either the required uniform consisting of the slacks (black) or the skirt (order forms in the office) of moderate length (no shorter than 2 inches above the knee.) Girls who do not obey the length rule will lose their privilege on the third warning to wear a skirt and must wear slacks. A white button up blouse is also required. Conservative sweaters in white or dark green (all solid colors) or the polar fleece available at the school are acceptable additions to the uniform. Uniform socks or hose must be worn with conservative dress shoes, (tennis shoes, open back shoes and sandals are not permitted). Hairstyles must be neat. Only one pierced ear ring per ear is allowed.
MALES: Boys are expected to wear black slacks (jeans or casual slacks similar to jeans are not acceptable.) Slacks must be worn in an appropriate manner, worn at the waist and belted. Boys must wear white shirts, and school ties drawn snug at the collar. Calf length socks are to be worn at all times. Dress shoes are to be tied and worn with the slacks, shirt and tie (tennis shoes, boots or hiking shoes are prohibited.) Sweaters in white or dark green (all solid colors) or the polar fleece available at the school are acceptable additions to the uniform. Belts should be black or brown and belt buckles should be simple in nature and small in size. Tee shirts may be worn under the dress shirt but must be pure white only. Hair styles must be neatly styled and trimmed (any hair style that brings undue attention to the student is unacceptable; the principal's judgment is final in this matter.) Boys are expected to be clean-shaven. No earrings are permitted for boys.
All students are expected to have their shirts or blouses tucked in, not rolled under, at all times. The only exception is the dress worn during physical education classes or specially noted activity days.
Any type of attire or hairstyle that attracts undue attention to the wearer and thus causes a disturbance in the school is not acceptable.
Clothing items bearing the logos of alcoholic or tobacco products or clothing that could be considered offensive are prohibited. Wearing hats at any time is also prohibited.
* During the school year there are many days when students are not required to wear their uniforms. A description of the dress code for these days follows. Students are reminded that violations will result in forfeiture of privileges on the next dress down day.
Bishop Donahue Spirit Days

On special occasions the Principal may grant a Bishop Donahue Spirit Day. On these occasions a nominal fee may be charged which will be donated to a worthy cause. On these days students must wear appropriate school spirit attire featuring our school colors and/or logos. Students have the option of wearing their regular uniform instead of the green and gold attire. Any student in any other attire will forfeit their privilege on the next dress down day.
Special Functions and School Awards Ceremonies

While the school uniform may not be required for these events, students should dress in an appropriate manner in accordance with the occasion. Males should wear slacks, not jeans and a golf or dress shirt with tie. Females should follow the skirt length rule used with the school uniform, wear slacks or a dress. This applies to the Sports Awards and other such functions. Dress at games should be appropriate to the spirit of the general school dress code, Christian modesty and common sense.

Dress Code for Semi-Formal and Formal Dances

MALES – Appropriate dress for these events include suits or tuxedos, belts, shirts, ties and dress shoes with socks.
FEMALES – In keeping with Christian modesty there should be no bare midriffs, no deep cut necklines and no high slit dresses or skirts.
A letter will be sent home to parents outlining appropriate dress code and behavior for all dances. This letter will include the provision that all dresses be approved in advance by Mrs. Metz as to there appropriateness for the occasion. IF a student or guest wears an unapproved dress, they will be asked to leave the event.
