Tuition & Financial Aid... 2009-10
Bishop Donahue High School is a diocesan owned school. It does not receive and financial assistance from any agency. All current and extraordinary financial obligations must be met from tuition payments of the students enrolled and donations to the Annual Fund.
Prompt payment of tuition and fees is required. Students are accepted on a full-year basis and tuition is kept at a minimum; a reduction of these charges is seldom possible. Diocesan assistance is available and TAP (Tuition Assistance Program) forms are available.

TUITION 2009-10
Single Student Family Tuition……………………….. $3,800.00
Each additional child…………………………………$2,1500.00
*A $200 textbook and technology fee and a $50 activity fee will be charged to all students.
Students from the supporting Catholic parishes of St. Francis Xavier, St. James and John, St. Jude and Our Lady of Peace are eligible for a $500 per student discount provided that:
* The applies for the Diocesan financial assistance program
* The parish priest verifies the family's involvement in the church
* A payment plan is selected
SOURCES OF INCOME
Bishop Donahue relies on three sources of income to maintain financial stability:
1) Tuition collected from parents
2) Monthly assessments provided by our supporting parishes.
3) Funds generated by our Development program
  • We believe that every family can afford a Bishop Donahue education. Financial assistance is available from the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston as well as from Bishop Donahue High School.
  • Students applying to the Diocese for aid must complete the FACTS tuition assistance application by April 15. The application is available in the B.D.H.S. Financial Office. If you have questions regarding financial assistance please call the school at 233-3850.
  • The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston will notify those who have applied for tuition assistance of their award status once the form is processed.
  • Additional aid is available through Bishop Donahue’s Financial Assistance program; please contact the school office at 233-3850.
  • All aspects of the Financial Aid process are confidential.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Parents have three options for payment of tuition:
1) Full tuition payment to B.D.H.S. by August 15
2) Payment of ½ of the tuition directly to B.D.H.S. by August 15, and the second ½ by January 15.
3) Using the FACTS TUITION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM:
a) Parents can choose to make two payments through FACTS (in August and January). There is a $15 FACTS fee for this payment method.
b) Parents can make monthly payments through FACTS (for up to 12 months). PAYMENT OF TUITION IN FULL MUST BE COMPLETE BY MAY 20. There is a $38 FACTS fee for this payment method.
*IF THE REQUIRED TUITION PAYMENT OR A COMPLETED FACTS FORM HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED BY BISHOP DONAHUE BY AUGUST 15, THE STUDENT MAY NOT RECEIVE A CLASS SCHEDULE AT ORIENTATION AND MAY NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE B.D.H.S. SPORTS PROGRAMS.
Parents/Students who are in arrears in tuition payments will have their transcript, diploma and records held until such payments are brought up to date.
OUR GOAL IT TO WORK WITH PARENTS TO ENSURE THAT NO CHILD WHO PURSUES A BISHOP DONAHUE EDUCATION WILL BE DENIED DUE TO FINANCIAL REASONS.
