Bishop Donahue High School hosted their annual school science fair on January 28th. The science fair research project is intended to help students understand the natural world through the use of the scientific method, and to help students master the skill of independent research. All freshmen students enrolled in a science course participated in the fair. To receive highest honors at the B.D.H.S. fair, students must have met all requirements for the fair, provide evidence of at least 90% concept and theoretical mastery of experimental design and testing a variable, and complete a private interview with our judges. Meeting these objectives awards students the rating of “superior” and the opportunity to compete at the regional science fair held at West Liberty University next month. We would like to congratulate our top 5 students who received this distinguished honor.
5th place- Tiara Bertrand
4th place- Hailey Dobrzynski
3rd place- Ally Berletch
2nd place- Madison Menendez
Grand Champion- Grace Williams
We would also like congratulate Emily Nelson for her honorable mention in the physics of sports science category.
Thanks to all of our judges for their contributions to our event and most importantly our students for their hard work and dedication. The science fair was sponsored by Mr. John Gongola of SDI Environmental and directed by faculty member Jarett Kuhns.
