B.D. Senior Finishes 2nd in Statewide Essay Competition

The Martin Luther King, Jr. State Holiday Commission joined the Wheeling YWCA earlier this year and extended an invitation to all school aged children in WV to participate in the YWCA “Project on Racism Essay Contest”.  We are proud to announce that of the 500 essays submitted statewide, B.D.H.S. Senior Coleton Berletch won second place.  All winners are invited to read their essays at Laughlin Chapel’s Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration in Wheeling on Monday, January 18 at 10:00.  Furthermore, they are invited to the YWCA Stand Against Racism Celebration in Charleston sponsored by the West Virginia Martin Luther King, Jr. State Holiday Commission on Friday, April 22.
