Congratulations to senior Cheyanne Reinbeau who has been selected as Bishop Donahue High School’s 2015 Aquinas Medal Winner.
The Aquinas Medal is the highest award a student can receive from the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. Through the Aquinas award, the diocese recognizes one student from each school at the highest academic grade level. Aquinas recipients are recognized for their outstanding qualities of faithful discipleship, academic excellence, leadership and service to school, parish and community, reflecting the ideals of Catholic education epitomized by St. Thomas Aquinas, the Catholic patron saint of students. The Medal is not intended strictly as an academic recognition but “to make visible those young people in our schools who embody the spirit of the school’s mission and the philosophy of Catholic school education.”
Bishop Donahue Principal Tom Wise said “Cheyanne is a most deserving winner of the prestigious Aquinas Medal. She is not only an excellent student, but a young lady who believes in serving others, who personifies the ideals of our school and who has earned the respect of our staff and her peers.”
Cheyanne will receive her award from The Most Reverend Michael J. Bransfield at the Bishop’s Dinner for Catholic Schools on Sunday, April 26 in Morgantown. Cheyanne is the daughter of Dave and Shelley Reinbeau of Wheeling.
