The Most Reverend Michael J. Bransfield, Bishop of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, was our honored guest on September 30. The Bishop took part in a presentation summarizing our 1-to-1 iPad program. Bishop Bransfield was joined by Father Dennis Schuelkens, former Bishop Donahue Pastor, and Vince Schmidt, the Superintendent of Catholic Schools.
The Bishop and our guests attended the daily prayer with the student body in the Fr. Raymond Jablinske Memorial Gymnasium. The Bishop offered words of encouragement and praise for the students. Following his remarks, the Bishop was presented a Donahue football jersey emblazoned with his name as a token of our thanks for all that he has done for Catholic education in West Virginia.
His Excellency and our guests also attended a special iPad presentation created by Mrs. Amy Granato’s sophomore religion class. The students highlighted the many positive aspects of the iPad program noting that B.D.H.S. was the only 100% digital high school in W.V.
